Rapid City Rush News Release
RUSH STORYLINES & UPCOMING OPPONENTS:
÷ On the Brink ¬" Tonight, the Rush have the Komets against the ropes in the best-of-5 Turner Conference Semifinals. Including last season ¬â¢s playoff run, Rapid City is 4-1 in potential elimination games.
÷ Racking Up the Wins ¬" After posting 22 wins during the inaugural season of 2008-09, the Rush have been one of the most dominant teams over the past two seasons. Saturday ¬â¢s 4-3 win in game #2 gave the Rush 100 wins over the last two seasons, including playoffs. The Rush boast an impressive 100-39-11 record during that span, 61 games over .500. Allen is the only other franchise to accomplish 100 wins in the last two years.
÷ Late Season Resurgence ¬" Another big name making a strong playoff impact for the Rush is power forward Colt King. This season, King totaled 9 goals and 33 total points through 52 games compared to 28 goals and 50 points in the same span last year. However, over his last ten games, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native has amassed 7 goals and 10 points. King played a vital role in Rapid City ¬â¢s come-from-behind win on Saturday, potting the game-tying goal before setting up Josh Beaulieu ¬â¢s shorthanded game-winner. King ¬â¢s 4 playoff goals rank second on the team behind only Les Reaney ¬â¢s 5.
÷ A First for Beau ¬" Entering this playoff run, the all but one of the Rush players possessed professional playoff experience. That player was Josh Beaulieu, who spent the first three years of his career with the Philadelphia/Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL. The fourth-year pro made his first professional playoff goal count, sending home the game-winner in Saturday ¬â¢s Game #2. It marked his 3rd shorthanded goal and 6th shorthanded point of the season, both team highs.
