Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush began the process of cutting its 37-man training camp roster by releasing five players – WR/LB Lindsay Fleshman, QB Sam Clemons, WR/DB Travis Coleman, and offensive specialists Jamel Riddle and J.R. Thomas.

"This year's cuts are perhaps the most difficult I ever have had to make," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We have a very deep roster and we are going to be forced to release some good players."

Fleshman spent the last three seasons with the Rush and was voted the team's Ironman of the Year after the 2003 and 2004 seasons. In his career, Fleshman caught 136 passes for 1,551 yards in 41 games. He also scored 40 touchdowns, and recorded 88 tackles and seven interceptions.

Clemons served as the team's third string QB as a rookie in 2004. He was active for one game, but did not see any action. Coleman, Riddle and Thomas were rookies looking to earn a spot on the 2005 Rush roster.

The Rush roster now stands at 32 players. Teams must cut to 24 by Monday, January 24.

The Rush kicks off its fifth anniversary season with the 2005 home opener set for noon on Sunday, February 6, against Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul. Rush season tickets, beginning at just $64, currently are on sale. To reserve your tickets, or for more information about 2005 Rush season tickets, fans can call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site at www.chicagorush.com.
