Edmonton Rush News Release
Edmonton, AB--General Manager/Head Coach Bob Hamley, Captain Chris McElroy and teammates kicked off the Edmonton's Food Bank drive for Saturday's game, April 11 against provincial rivals the Calgary Roughnecks at the Edmonton's Food Bank Warehouse today.
Coach Hamley, Captain McElroy and fellow teammates spent their afternoon assisting in the warehouse and encourage all fans coming to Saturday's game to bring a non-perishable item to stuff a bus sponsored by Realty Executives.
Realty Executives and the Edmonton Rush are partnering together to assist the Edmonton's Food Bank mission to be stewards in the collection of surplus and donated food for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger.
Each month, more than 11,000 people receive hampers from Edmonton's Food Bank or one of the over 160 agencies, churches, or food depots with which we are affiliated. The Food Bank also distributes food to more than 250,000 meals and snacks each month. Approximately 40% of clients served are children under 18.
