AFL Free Agent Signing Period Looms - The Arena Football League announced the list of 200 players who are free agents and free to sign with any team. The list includes nine players who finished the 2005 season with the Rush - OL/DL Colin Greczek, QB Todd Hammel, OL/DL Jon McCall, WR/LB Jeremy McDaniel, FB/LB Jamie McGourty, WR/DB Charles Pauley, QB Raymond Philyaw, OL/DL John Sikora and FB/LB Casey Urlacher. Teams can begin contacting free agents August 31 and contracts may be signed beginning September 14. To view a complete list of AFL free agents, click here.

Youth Football Coaching Clinic Tomorrow - The Rush will host a coaching clinic for Chicagoland youth football coaches Wednesday, August 31, at the team's Hoffman Estates practice facility, Poplar Creek Sports Centre. The free clinic will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be open to all local youth football coaches. To find out more, click here.

I caught the first touchdown pass in AFL history - a 42-yard reception from current Rush head coach Mike Hohensee - and went on to play three seasons in the AFL, catching 116 passes for 1,676 yards and 29 touchdowns. Who am I?

WHO AM I?

I am Russell Hairston and I played WR/DB for the Pittsburgh Gladiators (1987-88), New England Steamrollers (1988) and Maryland Commandos (1990). In addition to my 116 career receptions, I had 55 tackles and 10 passes broken up.
