Chicago Rush News Release

December 15, 2005 - Chicago Rush fans will help choose the National Anthem singer for the Rush home opener Friday night, February 3, as part of the team's fourth National Anthem contest, the team announced today.

The contest will take place on the field at Allstate Arena Tuesday, January 10, beginning at 4 p.m. and is open to all Chicagoland singers. However, unlike past contests, Rush fans will have the opportunity to vote for this year's winner via the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.

"The National Anthem contest has become one of our favorite events," said Rush vice president of communications Mike Alzamora. "We added a wrinkle this year by giving our fans the ability to vote for the person they want to hear perform at the home opener. We are looking forward to following the voting."

On January 10, the Rush panel of judges will select three finalists whose versions of the Star Spangled Banner will be uploaded to the Rush Web site. Then, beginning Wednesday, January 11, Rush fans will have the opportunity to listen to the three versions and vote for their choice. Voting will continue through Friday, January 20, with the winner announced Monday, January 23.

All contestants must register in advance by calling Laura Visin, Rush community relations manager, at (773) 243-3439. The deadline for registration is 4 p.m., Monday, January 9.

The Chicago Rush kicks of its season Sunday, January 29, at Colorado. The Rush home opener is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, against the New York Dragons. Fans interested in purchasing season or group tickets for 2006 can call the Rush at (877) RUSH-TIX or visit the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.
