Edmonton, AB----For the second time this season, a member of the Edmonton Rush has earned a weekly award from the National Lacrosse League.

The National Lacrosse League announced their players of the week and Rush defender Kyle Rubisch is the Defensive Player of the Week. The Weekly Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's nine member clubs.

Rubisch captured the NLL's Defensive Player of the Week Award today after the Rush dined on the Philadelphia Wings for a 12-10 victory this past Saturday at Rexall Place. The defender had three assists and scooped nine loose balls.

The Rush are off on a bye-week before returning to Rexall Place Friday, March 9 against the Calgary Roughnecks in the second round of the Battle of Alberta before the two clubs matchup the next night at Scotiabank Saddledome in the back-half of the home-and-away weekend series. Both games are scheduled to be broadcasted live on Sportswest.
