PRIDE CLOSE OUT SEASON ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT LONG ISLAND

The 2007 season will come to a close for the Pride this Saturday, August 11, as the team travels to Long Island to face the Lizards at 7:00 pm. The is the second consecutive season that the team has closed their season at Long Island. The Pride defeated the Lizards 19-15 back on July 21 behind some spectacular goaltending by Rob Scherr. Pride fans can listen to the game on NJIR.net beginning at 6:30 pm.

PRIDE DEFEAT LEAGUE-LEADING RATTLERS 13-12 IN HOME FINALE

Fans in attendance on Saturday night were treated to a big win for the hometown Pride as they handed the Rochester Rattlers their first loss in eight weeks. New Jersey was led by a stong defensive effort from Ryan Mollett, Ryan McClay and Brett Hughes, as well as 26 saves from Goalie Rob Scherr. Offensively the team was led by Conor Ford's 4 goals and rookie Merrick Thomson's first career hat-trick.

SCHERR, HUGHES HONORED WITH WEEKLY MLL AWARDS

Goalie Rob Scherr and Defenseman Brett Hughes were honored by Major League Lacrosse for their on-field performances following the team's win over Rochester. Scherr was named Goalie of the Week for the second time this season after his 26-save performance. Hughes was honored with his second career Defensive Player of the Week after he held Rochester's John Grant, Jr. without a goal for the first time in his 49-game career.

While the Pride of struggled to find consistency throughout the 2007 season, there is one spot on the field where the team has been able to find a solid gem on a weekly basis... Goalie Rob Scherr. Newjerseypride.com's Bobby Ingram sat down with Rob to discuss this season and his impressions on the future of the Pride.

NB ZIP MLL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND TO BE HELD IN ROCHESTER

The four teams are set (Rochester, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles), the only thing left to decide is the seeding... The 2007 NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend will be held at Rochester's PaetecPark over the weekend of August 25 and 26. The Semi-Finals will take place on Saturday, August 25. For the first time in league history the Championship Game will be played the day immediately following the Semis.
