PRIDE WORK WITH WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT ON JULY 12 GAME
The New Jersey Pride announced a partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project for the July 12 ESPN2 game against the Philadelphia Barrage. The team will have veterans on hand to educate fans about the goals of the WWP. The Pride will honor the wounded veterans by warming up in special Under Armour shirts with the Wounded Warrior Project logo. Fans will also have the chance to bid on the Kyle Harrison All Star jersey during the first half of the game. The winner of the auction will be presented the jersey during the second half of the game, live on ESPN2. All proceeds from the auction will go toward the Wounded Warrior Project.
BUCKTOOTH'S SIX NET CANNONS A WIN OVER PRIDE
Boston's Brett Bucktooth scored six goals and added an assist as the Cannons defeated the Pride 16-13 in front of 2,966 Saturday night at Yurcak Field. The game was not without controversy however as a two-point goal from Jesse Hubbard went through the net yet was inexplicably disallowed by the officials. The goal would have given the Pride a 9-8 advantage in the third quarter. The momentum killer led to three unanswered Cannons goals, enough to put the game out of reach for the Pride. New Jersey was paced by Rob Scherr's 20 saves and Scott Urick (3g, 2a) and Kyle Harrison's (2g, 3a) 5 point efforts on the night.
