Abilene Ruff Riders News Release

ABILENE, TX: The Abilene Ruff Riders announced at a press conference from Star Dodge Dealership in Abilene on Wednesday, April 29, that the Ruff Riders and Children's Miracle Network will be working together for the Ruff Riders next home game on Saturday, May 16, 2009 versus the Corpus Christi Hammerheads to raise proceeds for Children's Miracle Network.

The Ruff Riders & CMN are asking for the support of the Ruff Riders fans and the Abilene community in efforts to give back to Children's Miracle Network for this very remarkable event.

For every ticket purchased the Abilene Ruff Riders are asking that all fans donate one dollar towards the Children's Miracle Network in hopes of reaching the goal of $5,000 to give to CMN.

"We are very excited to be working with Children's Miracle Network and we certainly feel that with the support of our great fans and the community of Abilene that we can reach our projected goal. It is very important for a professional indoor football organization, such as the Ruff Riders, to give back to a notable organization like Children's Miracle Network." stated Abilene Ruff Riders General Manager, Barney Welch.

Additionally, the Ruff Riders will be auctioning off a Jerale Badon jersey which of course all the proceeds donated to Children's Miracle Network. Badon is one of the top wide receivers on the Abilene Ruff Riders roster this season and he is one of the many reasons as to why the Ruff Riders are in first place in the Lone Star Division of the Indoor Football League.

"We have had incredible support from the Ruff Riders fans and the Abilene community since the very beginning. The Ruff Riders organization is confident that we can reach our goal for the upcoming home game and today we are proud to announce our working partnership with the CMN." explained Welch.
