June 16, 2003 - Central Baseball League (Central League)
Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release

The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks very own ace pitcher, Tim McClaskey, is being sought after by the Kansas City Royals, and other Major league teams.

McClaskey came to the Ducks with experience playing in A, AA and AAA ball. He was with the minor league Marlins, Mariners, A's and Tigers before coming to Springfield/Ozark. In 2001 McClaskey tied for fifth for the most appearances (63) in the minors. He was the Marlins minor league leader in appearances in 2001 with 63. And he was the GCL leader in shutouts in 1996 with two (2).

Currently McClaskey leads the Central Baseball League with an ERA of 1.20, a win-loss record of 6-1, 60IP, one walk and 43 strikeouts. He leads the league with complete games pitched with 6, and total number of shutouts with 3.

McClaskey was named the first Daktronics Central League Player of the Week for the 2003 season. He started the season by pitching a complete game shutout against the Amarillo Dillas on May 8, allowing eight hits, one walk and striking out seven players. On May 13 he pitched his second complete game victory of the season, this time against the Jackson Senators, while striking out six and not allowing a single base on balls. That was only the beginning of an excellent first half of the 2003 season.

McClaskey will be pitching his eighth game on Tuesday, June 17 at 6:15 against the Shreveport Sports.
