Kelowna, BC - The Victoria Royals came back twice in tonight's contest before falling in a shootout to the Vancouver Giants by a score of 5-4. Tarun Fizer and Brandon Cutler each had a goal and an assist in tonight's contest.

BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS IT: The Royals and Giants combined for four goals in a mere 2:32 seconds of game time in the second period of tonight's game. The Royals started off the scoring spree when they notched two power play goals at the 2:39 and 3:00 minute marks respectively. Vancouver responded 89 seconds later when they popped in a pair of goals at the 4:29 mark and at 5:02 of the second period.

FIRSTS FOR A COUPLE OF CARTERS: Carter Dereniwsky notched his first WHL goal tonight versus the Giants. The Canora, SK native was drafted by the Royals in the 2nd round (39th overall) of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. Carter Briltz also made his WHL debut tonight. The Regina, SK native was the 102nd overall pick at the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.

OH, LORDY IT'S FORTY: The Royals have given up between 40-49 shots on five occasions this season. Victoria's record in those games is 2-2-0-1. In games where the club has given up under 40 shots or over 49 their record is 0-11-1-0.
