Roughriders fined, suspended

Toronto, Ontario - (July 26, 2006) - The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that it has taken disciplinary action against Saskatchewan Roughriders' defensive linemen Terrell Jurineack and Scott Schultz for separate incidents in a game against the Toronto Argonauts on July 22nd at Mosaic Stadium.

Mr. Jurineack has been assessed a one-game suspension for a hit involving Argo quarterback Eric Crouch. This suspension is pending the outcome of any review hearing that may be requested by the player.

"It is my understanding the team is likely to review the decision," said Michael Copeland, Chief Operating Officer for the CFL. "It would be inappropriate for the League to comment on the matter pending the review process."

Mr. Schultz has been given an undisclosed fine for a hit against Argo quarterback Spergon Wynn.
