Roughnecks Unveil Player Signings

The West Texas Roughnecks would like to thank all media representatives for attending today's NEWS Conference Thursday, February 16th, at NFL MAN in Music City Mall . The Press conference  began at 2:00 p.m .

           Roughnecks announced two fan favorite players,  Jermaine Blakely and Dwayne Hogan. Blakely and Hogan have signed to return in the 2012 season. Jermaine Blakely and Hogan both were a part of the 2006 Championship Team and have been loved by the Permian Basin community since day one. Blakely has had extreme versatility over his entire career playing a variety positions. Jermaine has been a RB, FB, DT, DE and TE. Dwayne holds the record for most rushing TDs in a single game with 6 last season. "These gentlemen are a staple of the Roughnecks Organization and their community service is well renowned. I am proud to have them on our team," stated Owner Dale Morris.

          The Roughnecks also announced a new player, Malcolm Shepherd WR. Shepherd,  a WR,  played for the Nevada Wolf Pack and racked up 39 receptions as well as 399 yards in the 2010 season. Malcolm's combine numbers were impressive also running a 4.5 40yd at 6'2" 205lbs with a vertical of  36". "This receiver gives our team size and speed all in one package," proclaimed Head Coach Brian Brents.

           The West Texas Roughnecks revealed for the first time ever in the Permian Basin's Professional sports history,  an ACTION FIGURE GIVEAWAY!!!  "Jermaine Blakely was originally scheduled to be showcased on a Bobble Head giveaway last season but due to issues with customs it never came to pass. So being a sports figure fan myself and to make good on my commitment to the fans and Jermaine I have had an action figure made by Success Promotions that rivals the McFarlane Sports Picks," exclaimed Owner Dale Morris. These action figures will be given to the first 1,000 fans attending the April 14th  Fan Appreciation Night game.
