West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. : The Odessa Roughnecks are five days into training camp as they prepare for their first game of 2008 on Saturday, March 15 against the CenTex Barracudas at the Ector County Coliseum, kickoff at 7:11 p.m. Head Coach Chris Williams and the Roughnecks coaching staff have been extremely pleased with the progress that every player has been making in camp. Particularly, players such as DL Michael Moore, WR Mike Glover, and QB Dennis Gile are standing out at their positions in camp. DB Alex Ross (5'10",190 lbs.) out of UTEP, has been the biggest surprise on the field, making big strides at his game and helping the Roughnecks secondary become better each day.
"It's great to see all the effort and progress each guy is making in camp. It makes our jobs more difficult because we have to choose the best among all the players. Players like Glover and Gile are developing beyond our expectations and so are many of the others at camp, and with Alex Ross being a great surprise it only makes me feel more confident about the type of team we will have this season." says Head Coach Chris Williams.
Season tickets and corporate partnerships continue to move quickly so interested parties should contact the team at (432) 332- PASS (7277) or visit www.RoughnecksIFL.com for further information.
