ODESSA, TX. It is with great pride and excitement that the Odessa Roughnecks invite all members of the media to the introduction of the team's first ever Head Coach. This announcement will be made this Wednesday, January 28th at 1:30 PM. New Roughnecks corporate partner, Taco Villa will be hosting the event at their Grandview and 42nd store and will provide order-off-the-menue lunch.
This announcement comes after nearly four months of searching for what management felt like was the perfect fit for the organization.
"The unique individual we have selected has a special combination of experience as a coach in arena football and as a player agent. Because of this, we believe he is capable of bringing the best possible team to us here in Odessa and then finishing the job by coaching these young men to a championship," stated Tommy Benizio in regards to the new head coach
Additional Reminder: The IFL has selected Odessa to host the first annual league coaches and owners meetings. A gala banquet will kick-off the weekend and is open to all media. It will take place this Friday, January 30th at 7:00 PM at the Holiday Inn in Odessa.
Play begins in May of next spring in competition with San Angelo, Lubbock, Amarillo, El Paso, and Corpus Christi.
