Roughnecks sign new Quarterback

ODESSA, TX. : The Roughnecks are pleased to announce the signing of their new quarterback, after losing Walter Washington to the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe. Chad Friehauf will be the new captain at the helm this year. He's 6'2", 212 lbs of all quarterback. He went to college at Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Friehauf set school records in passing yards with 9,783, had 84 touchdown passes, 1,183 attempts and 773 completions. He accounted for 92.6% of the team's total offense in 2 play-off games with a stunning1,044 of 1,127 total yards. Friehauf set Division II records in passing yards with 4,646 and 384 completions, winning him the Harlon Hill Trophy which is given to the best player in Division II college football, equivalent to the Heisman Trophy. He excelled so much that he was drafted as a free agent to the N.F.L. by the Denver Broncos. He grew up watching the now legend John Elway and never dreamed of, let alone play for the Broncos.

The Roughnecks will start the season in a few weeks so come out and watch Friehauf and the rest of the Roughnecks as they take on the San Angelo Stampede Express on March 31st at the Dorothy Garret Coliseum. The Roughnecks come back home the following weekend April 9th to take on the Centex Barracudas.
