MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks are pleased to announce on Thursday, November 10 that Kirk Broussard has been appointed as the Assistant General Manager & Defensive Coordinator for the upcoming 2012 season.ÃÂ A native of New Orleans, LA Broussard recently served as an NFL Coaching Intern for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2010 season.ÃÂ Prior to his coaching experience in the NFL Broussard served as the Director of Player Personnel for the Columbus Lions during the team's 2010 championship season as a member of the Southern Indoor Football League.

In connection with current West Texas Roughnecks Head Coach Brian Brents, Broussard served as the Offensive Coordinator of the Mississippi Mudcats (AIFA) in 2008 when Brian Brents served as Head Coach.ÃÂ In addition to being Offensive Coordinator Broussard was also the Director of Player Personnel for the Mudcats organization in 2008.ÃÂ Broussard would guide the Mudcats offense to the number one ranking in 2008 as the team finished 13-1 during the regular season with an appearance in the conference championship game.

Prior to his time with Mississippi Broussard served as the Itawamba Community College Running Backs Coach in 2007.ÃÂ Furthermore, Broussard spent 2006 as the Fullbacks & Linebackers Coach of the Lakeland Thunderbolts (NIFL) as well as the Director of Player Personnel.
