Ronald Rodríguez, Noah Powder Receive International Call-Ups
September 14, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
FC Tulsa's backline will be well represented on the international stage over the next two weeks as Ronald Rodríguez and Noah Powder have earned the opportunity to don their nations' crests once again.
Rodríguez's home country of El Salvador has called up the 23-year-old FC Tulsa center-back for Friendly action as the nation takes on Peru on Tuesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. CT. The match will be played at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
Over his international career, Rodríguez has racked up 23 appearances for his country across World Cup qualifications, the 2021 Gold Cup, CONCACAF Nations League play, and International Friendlies. The San Miguel native has logged one assist for "La Selecta" and has started in 25 of his 26 appearances.
Wingback Noah Powder, who was born in New Jersey but represents Trinidad and Tobago internationally, will also be in action next week as Trinidad and Tobago travels to the Chiang Mai province of Thailand for the King's Cup 2022.
The tournament will consist of four nations - Thailand, Malaysia, Trinidad and Tobago, and its first-round opponent, Tajikistan. The match between the "Soca Warriors" and Tajikistan will kick off on Thursday, September 22 at 10:30 p.m. CT. Should Trinidad and Tobago win, it will advance to take on the winner of the Thailand vs. Malaysia contest in the tournament Final on September 25.
Powder has capped 20 total times internationally, seven of which have come with the Trinidad and Tobago senior squad. Also a 23-year-old, Powder has scored twice and notched two assists for his country.
Both players are expected to miss FC Tulsa's matchup with Detroit City FC on September 24.
