Ron Vogel Set to Lead the Jr. Brahmas

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (May 4)- The Jr. Brahmas and Texas Brahmas organizations are pleased to announce the proactive restructuring of their hockey program Wednesday, beginning with the promotion of Ron Vogel to the new position of Vice President / Jr. Brahmas. He will lead all activities associated with the Texas Brahmas Youth Hockey Association.

Vogel's responsibilities will include; Head Coach - 98 Bantam Jr. Brahmas, oversee everyday operations of TBYHA, serve as point of contact for all involved in the program and as the goaltending coach, effective immediately. Ron will also be the chief architect in the development of the first Tier 1 / AAA Jr. Brahmas teams beginning in the 2012-13 season. "I look forward in building onto an already strong youth hockey program with the Jr. Brahmas and my continued involvement with the pro team," said Vogel.

With the change, the Jr. Brahmas are optimistic about the growth of the program and sport in North Texas. NYTEX President, Frank Trazzera believes the change will improve the successful program.

"This is an ideal time and great opportunity for us to promote Ronnie to build upon our programs strong foundation," said Trazzera. "It also allows me personally to step back and focus on enjoying my sons participation as a parent." Vogel will continue to play a significant role in the Texas Brahmas professional franchise working alongside Head Coach Dan Wildfong.

"We are thrilled to have Ronnie assume these new responsibilities, while also continuing his efforts in assisting the Brahmas hockey operations to ensure a high quality product on the ice as we have had during the past four years," said General Manager Mike Barack.

Current Bantam coach Rodney Walsh looks forward to working with Vogel during the upcoming season. "I am so excited to work alongside Ron, we look forward to achieving great success together for all of our kids and teams," said Walsh.

Vogel leads the Jr. Brahmas following three seasons behind the bench as the Texas Brahmas professional team's assistant coach. In his first season with the Brahmas, he helped lead the team to the franchise's first championship title. Prior to coaching, Vogel played one season in the CHL in Corpus Christi. He has also spent seasons between the pipes in the IHL, UHL, ECHL and EIHL.
