
Rome holds off Thunder rally

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Rome's Marcus Brady rushed for four touchdowns and threw two more as the Renegades held off the Daytona Beach Thunder for a 48-42 American Indoor Football League victory before 2,104 at DBCC Public Broadcasting 15 Field at the Ocean Center Thursday night.
Trailing 42-20, the Thunder (3-4) closed to 42-35 on Oscar Davenport's 4-yarder to Allen Suber with 41 seconds to play and 48-42 on Davenport's 40-yard strike to Nick Allison with 11 seconds to go. However, the Renegades (6-1) recovered both onsides kicks to maintain the lead.
Daytona Beach led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter on Andy Eminger's 1-point rouge in the first quarter, but only managed one kickoff return by Suber over the next two quarters as Rome build up a three-score lead.
Suber finished with six catches for 36 yards and two touchdowns, while Lucas Greene had six catches for 62 and one score.
The Thunder, which has lost three of its games by a combined 12 ui hosts the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers on April 29.
