Rome Gladiators Win Second Game of Year

The Rome Gladiators proved on Thursday night at Shorter College's Winthrop-King Centre they are still head of the class in the WBA! One of the new stars this year Lamar Castille led four Gladiators in double figures, pouring in 23 points to pace Rome to a 116-99 win over the Musicians.Coach Harold Ellis in a radio interview after the big victory"We played good for three quarters but the last four minutes of the game we did not play well. We've got to be tougher," he said. "We made some good plays, but we have to be better."

Lamar Castille -23 points

Shaun Fountain -20 points

Ray Cunningham- 19points 10 Rebounds

Jack Ingram- 10 points

Kenyon Gamble - 6 Blocks


*The Gladiators shot 56% from the field,

*Rome got 55 points in the game from its bench

*Rome had 20 turnovers in the game, 12 fewer than it had in the opener.

*Rome also had 26 points in the game off the fast break

*The three pointer didn't beat anybody, as Rome had zero in the game and Murfreesboro had four.

*****Rome returns to action Saturday at Murfreesboro.
