Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced a number of staff additions for the 2013 season, including five interns and the team's public address announcer. In addition, the Rogues added an assistant coach and signed their 41st player to the 2013 on-field team.
Shortstop Ray McIntire, a junior at Nevada-Reno, becomes the Rogues' 41st player signed, including seven 10-day contract roster spots. A native of Winters, CA, McIntire projects to be the WolfPack's utility middle infielder when the Nevada-Reno schedule begins February 15.
Bill Greenstein will serve as the Rogues' public address announcer for the 2013 season. Greenstein, a native of Ashland, handles public address duties for Southern Oregon University and has a long history as the in-game "ringmaster" for a number of Rogue Valley sports entities.
In addition, the Rogues added five interns to the staff. Joining the team from Southern Oregon University are Jacob Coburn, Becca Eccleston and Katie Higgins. Shannon Seus joins the Rogues from Linn-Benton JC, and Kyle Toy comes from the University of Oregon. Coburn, currently a member of the Sports Information Department at SOU, will handle much of the Rogues' public relations duties including press releases, game day notes and input on the team's published materials. Eccleston's emphasis will be on athletic training, while Higgins and Seus will handle much of the team's community outreach, public relations and in-game promotional duties. Toy's focus will be on business, game-day operations and ticketing during the season.
The Rogues also added an assistant coach, Steven Humble from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Humble, a native of Eugene, Oregon, played two years at Chemetka (OR) JC before finishing his playing career at UIC. He is now in his second season at UIC after serving with current University of Oregon assistant coach Dean Stiles at Lane (OR) JC in 2011.
"I played with and against Coach Humble from age eight until college," Rogues Head Coach Josh Hogan said. "He is a very positive, driven person with a very good baseball IQ and understanding of people. I can't wait to go to battle with him."
