MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced that Dylan Jones has been added to the coaching staff for the 2013 season.
Jones, 23, is currently a member of the coaching staff at Oregon State University. A former Beaver player, Jones appeared in postseason games in 2010 and 2011 with Oregon State, playing first base and pitching. Jones also played two years at Mt. Hood JC where he earned NWAACC first-team honors both years and served as team captain as a sophomore.
A native of Portland, OR, Jones attended Aloha High School. He starred for the WCL's Corvallis Knights in 2009-10 and played in the Australian Baseball League for Knights Coach Brooke Knight in 2011.
Jones replaces Assistant Coach Steven Humble, who will remain on coaching staff at the University of Illinois-Chicago during the summer.
The Rogues also announced that LHP Bryan Clough (Santa Ana JC) has been dropped from the 2013 roster. Clough will not play summer baseball this year.
The West Coast League is an 11-team collegiate wood-bat baseball league composed of the best college players, coaches, facilities and operators in the industry. Ranging from Medford, Oregon north to Kelowna, B.C., the league has operated as the WCL since 2005. In 2012, a league record 57 WCL players were selected in the Major League draft.
