Rogues 2014 Schedule Announced
November 14, 2013 - West Coast League (WCL)
Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced the release of the team's 2014 schedule, including 54 West Coast League games and eleven non-league contests.
The 2014 schedule begins on the road as Medford travels to Marysville, CA to play the Gold Sox on May 29 and 30. The home season starts May 31 with a 5 p.m. doubleheader with the Seattle Cheney Studs, followed by a June 1 afternoon tilt featuring the Studs. The Studs were originally formed in Medford and moved to the Seattle/Tacoma area in the early 1950s.
West Coast League play begins Friday, June 6 as the Rogues travel to Cowlitz for a three-game set, then return for their WCL home opener and a four-game series with the Bend Elks. The 2014 regular season ends August 10 with the Rogues home five nights in seven days, hosting the Klamath Falls Gems for two, then finishing the regular season with a three-game series hosting the 2013 WCL Champion Corvallis Knights. The Knights knocked Medford out of the 2013 divisional playoffs in August. The 2014 playoff schedule is set to begin August 12. The 2014 West Coast League All-Star Game is scheduled for July 21 at Klamath Falls.
"We're very happy with the 2014 schedule and can't wait to get started," Rogues General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "We're home a lot in June but we make up for that by avoiding some of the July and early August heat, and the potential wild fires that really hurt us at the end of last season. This will give us a chance to really step up our group and fundraising efforts and really make the season work for the whole community. We're very excited to build on a playoff year and we can't wait to get started."
Planned promotions include five bobble head nights, three fireworks shows, giveaway nights and "$2 Thursday," featuring $2 bleacher tickets, hot dogs, nachos, beer and soda every Thursday home game. More promotions, fundraisers and special event nights will be announced as the 2014 season approaches. Season tickets are on sale now and all season ticket packages will include tickets for the March 24 exhibition scrimmage featuring the University of Oregon baseball team at Harry & David Field.
