LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-2-1 OVERALL RECORD: 11-31-5, 27 pts., 4th Place Northwest Division
Feb. 15 vs. Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, 6-5 Overtime Loss - Down 4-1 through 20 minutes, the Rage staged a furious comeback by scoring three times in a 5:15 span through the end of the second into the third. Adam Loncan then pulled Rocky Mountain in front, 5-4, at 7:16 only to see the visitors tie the game and force overtime with less than four minutes to play. The Mudbugs captured the victory 17 seconds into the extra session.
Feb. 16 @ Amarillo Gorillas, 7-1 Loss - The younger brother of Rage captain Dan Vandermeer, Bill, scored four times to lead the way for the Gorillas. Clay Plume scored the only goal for Rocky Mountain in the loss.
Feb. 17 vs. Oklahoma City Blazers, 4-3 Loss - A hard-fought game throughout, the Rage twice overcame one-goal deficits to tie the game at three mid-way through the second period. Still 3-3 until well into the third, the Blazers knocked home the game-winning goal off a rebound with under five minutes remaining in regulation.
THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES
Friday, Feb. 23 @ Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, 6:05 p.m. MST - The Rage look to avenge last week's overtime loss to the defending Northern Conference champions.
Saturday, Feb. 24 @ Memphis RiverKings, 6:05 p.m. MST - Rocky Mountain battles the first place team out of the Northeast Division.
Friday's tilt from Bossier City, La., can be heard live on KLZ 560 AM beginning at 5:50 p.m. MST with the pre-game show. Saturday's play-by-play will air on KLDC 810 AM with the pre-game also beginning at 5:50 p.m. MST.
NOTES
* The Rage are currently suffering through a seven-game winless skid (0-6-1) dating back to their last victory on Feb. 2, a 2-1 shootout decision over the Wichita Thunder.
* Matic Kralj scored two goals last Thursday against Bossier-Shreveport a team-record 12 seconds apart to help spearhead the club's comeback.
* Rocky Mountain gave-up a season-high five power play goals against during the loss to Amarillo on Friday.
* Dominic Noel scored an unassisted goal on Saturday against the Blazers. The unassisted tally was his second and the team's sixth of the year.
* With single goals on both Friday and Saturday, Clay Plume now leads all Rage defensemen with five goals this season. Craig Olynick's 17 points (3g-14a) pace the team's blue-liners in overall scoring followed by Plume's 16 points (5g-11a).
* Adam Stefishen racked up another 19 penalty minutes on Saturday, giving him 214 on the season. He is fourth in the league in penalty minutes and tied for third with 16 fighting majors.
* The Rage trail the Thunder by 21 points in the race for the Northern Conference's sixth and final playoff berth.
