Casper Ghosts News Release
Casper, Wyo. - The Casper Rockies Professional Baseball Club announced today that they will be doing their part to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Rockies will be donating a portion of their ticket sales for the games of Wednesday, September 7th and Thursday the 8th to the American Red Cross to assist the displaced citizens of the Gulf Coast region.
"As an organization we all felt the need to help the victims of this disaster in any way we could," said Danny Tetzlaff, Rockies General Manager. "We hope that our fans will do what they can to help us in our efforts over these next two days."
The Rockies will also be taking donations on the mornings of the 7th and 8th. They will be set up outside the Mt. Rushmore Broadcasting studios at 218 N. Wolcott in downtown Casper. The Rockies will be giving tickets away as a thank you to all people who come by and donate as much money as they can spare.
All donations will be funneled through the Casper Star Tribune so they will all be matched by the McMurry Foundation who has pledged to match any donation up to $250,000.
