Casper Ghosts News Release

The Casper Rockies got an outstanding start from lefty Xavier Cedeno and rode it all the way to a 3-1 win at Mike Lansing Field in Casper. The win for Casper, coupled with an Ogden loss in Billings, puts the Rockies in a tie for first place in the 2nd half Pioneer League race.

Cedeno worked a season high 6 2/3rd innings, fanning six and allowed just one run. Andrew Johnston bounced back from his loss the night previous to earn his league-best 14th save. The Rockies offense needed only six hits to get the win as Helena's defense aided the cause with four errors. Corey Wimberly did get a 2nd inning hit to extend his hitting streak to 13.

Chaz Roe pitches for Casper on another BioLife Plasma Monday at Lansing Field. Helena throws lefty David Welch in opposition. 7:05 is the game's first pitch.
