Rockies pitching leads to second straight win over Ogden
July 3, 2005 - Pioneer League (PL)
Casper Ghosts News Release
Anuery Rodriguez got the great pitching started for the Rockies with five solid innings of work, allowing just two hits to the Ogden Raptors Sunday evening in Casper. Rodriguez earned his first professional win as Casper defeated Ogden 6-0.
The 17-year old right-hander did walk three but managed to work himself out of a couple of early jams. Relievers Byron Binda, Sean Ruthven, and Brett Strickland worked the final four shutout innings for the Rockies.
Offensively for Casper, Cole Garner went 3-4 with a towering 2-run blast in the first inning off of Raptors starter Kris Krise. Garner now has a team high 14 RBI's to go along with his three home runs. Dexter Fowler also connected on a long ball, his first of 2005.
The Rockies and Raptors wrap up the three-game series with a 7:05 first pitch on Independence Day before heading on a five day road trip.
