Casper Ghosts News Release
The Casper Rockies stayed in the playoff chase with a 9-4 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars Saturday night. The game ushered in the Rockies final home stand of 2005.
Alan Johnson got the start and put the Rockies on his back as he worked seven great innings. The former Mississippi State Bulldog struck out eight and allowed just one run in earning his 3rd win of the season. Idaho Falls starter Phil Davidson failed to get out of the 3rd, giving up all nine runs and taking the loss.
The Rockies bats were alive and well too. All nine position players for Casper had at least one hit and seven of the nine men also had at least one RBI. Corey Wimberly led the charge with a 3-5 night. Bret Berglund was 2-4 with two RBI's and an outfield assist in the 7th.
Casper and the Chukars resume their series with a 2:05 Sunday start time. Lefties Brandon Durden and Ryan DiPietro start for the clubs.
Unfortunately for Casper the Orem Owlz pulled out a one-run victory in the 9th versus Ogden. Orem stays in front of the South by two games currently. They also lead the potential wild card by a game over Casper.
