MIDLAND, Texas - The Midland RockHounds got two RBI's apiece from Tommy Everidge, Adrian Cardenas and Yung-Chi Chen on the way to a 7-5 win over the Hooks Monday night at Citibank Ballpark in the opener of this four-game series.

Everidge, in his second full season at Midland, extended his hitting streak to eight games with a two-run single in the first to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Cardenas provided his league-leading ninth double of the year with two outs in the third to plate two RockHounds, turning a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 Midland advantage.

In the eighth, Chen delivered a couple of insurance runs when he bounced a double over the bag at third and into the left-field corner to make it a 7-3 game.

The Hooks rallied for a pair of runs in the ninth on an RBI double by Collin DeLome and a line-drive sacrifice fly to right off the bat of Drew Locke. Locke, who played left and batted third on Monday, crunched an impressive two-run home run in the top of the third to give the Hooks a brief 3-2 lead. The homer was impressive because it was hit into a stiff wind.

Combined with his single in the first, Locke's two-run blast gave him hits in six consecutive at-bats, dating to Sunday afternoon's game at Whataburger Field against Frisco. Locke has hit safely in all 14 games in which he has started this season and extended his hitting streak to seven games. Locke now leads the Texas League with 22 RBI's.

Chad Wagler (0-2), making a spot start for Polin Trinidad, allowed four runs on six hits over five innings and was tagged with the loss. He walked one and fanned two during his 68-pitch performance.

Trinidad was placed on the disabled list Monday afternoon with an injured right knee. Reliever Erick Abreu was removed from the inactive list to take Trinidad's spot on the roster. Abreu allowed a run on four singles in the seventh.

Catcher Koby Clemens, added to the Hooks roster Saturday, made his first start at the Double-A level. He went 0-for-4 from the number eight spot in the order and threw out a would-be base stealer in the fourth.

Casey Hudspeth (1-1, 3.68) takes the hill for Corpus Christi in Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. start. He'll be opposed by Midland's Travis Banwart (2-0, 1.84).
