
Rockhold Signs on for 2012 Season

Reading, PA (November 29, 2011): The Reading Express is extremely pleased to announce the resigning of Kicker Erik Rockhold for the 2012 season. This marks the 7th season for Rockhold and the Express. Rockhold is the only player in franchise history to play every game, all 100 consecutively. "Eric Rockhold has been a fixture with this organization since its inception and we are proud to announce his resigning" said Head Coach, Mark Steinmeyer.
Erik is a seasoned vet and he anticipates kicking his 1,000th career point with the Reading Express this season. Rockhold has amassed over 100 Field Goals, 450 Pats and 900 points in his career with the Express. A product of Appalachian State University, Rockhold was a two time all Southern Conference selection and also an All American.
"The organization is very excited to have Erik back for another season. He is a fan favorite and we look forward to watching him make his 1,000th career point" commented Ted Lavender, Express owner and President.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
