Rockford IceHogs News Release
Hoffman Estates, Ill.- Goaltenders Frederic Cloutier and Brenden Cuthbert began the 2006-07 as goalie partners on the Rockford IceHogs. On Sunday afternoon they engaged in a goaltending battle as opponents that was decided in the shootout. Rockford slipped by Chicago at the Sears Centre 2-1 as they outscored the Hounds in the extra session by that same margin.
Rockford got the first goal of the game at 4:54 of the second period. Center Bryce Cockburn's blast was blocked by Cuthbert, but the rebound was followed and buried by Hogs winger Kaleb Betts for his 16th goal of the season.
Chicago tied the score late in the third period with Cuthbert on the bench and the extra attacker on. Winger Drew Otten chipped in a rebound at 18:58 past Cloutier to ruin the shutout and send the game to a shootout.
