LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks kick off their inaugural Northern League season with a four-game homestand that features T-shirts, fireworks, dollar beers, souvenir helmets, magnet schedules, picture frames and free train rides.
The Rockford RiverHawks' first homestand starts Thursday. Tickets are $15 for premium box, $12 home plate box, $10 infield box, $8 outfield box, and $5 grandstand. Diamond Deck seats are still available all home stand long, for $25 get all you can eat and drink. Season tickets and mini-season plans are still available. Call the RiverHawks box office (815) 885-2255 to reserve those seats.
The first 1,000 fans through the Road Ranger Stadium gates on Thursday will receive inaugural season t-shirts commemorating the move to the Northern League. The shirts are being sponsored by Axberg Heating and Air/OTB Trackside. Besides the t-shirts, Thursday is the first Thirsty Thursday featuring $1 Miller Lite drafts. Concluding the opening night festivities will be a postgame fireworks show. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.; gates open at 6:05 p.m.
Friday night, OSF St. Anthony Medical Center is sponsoring a batting helmet giveaway to the first 1,000 fans through the gate. It is also Neurology Awareness Night. Gametime is 7:05 p.m.; gates open at 6:05 p.m.
Saturday, the RiverHawks are giving away 2010 magnetic schedules, while also hosting Red Cross night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.; doors open at 5:05 p.m.
The first family day of 2010 is Sunday, which is photo day and picture frame giveaway. Doors open at 3:05 p.m. with the game starting at 4:05 p.m.
The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season this summer. The RiverHawks' ninth season begins at 7:05 p.m. Thursday against the Schaumburg Flyers at Road Ranger Stadium. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255.
