Rockford Rampage News Release
The Rockford Rampage Professional Indoor Soccer team is giving back to the community via the Boys and Girls Club of Rockford during the month of February.
Every Wednesday, players from the Rampage volunteer at the Flodin Unit for 2 hours and help members with their homework, play games with the kids, and participate in activities in the gymnasium. This week, the youth will have the opportunity to learn soccer skills from Roberto Gallo, Marco Sullo, Fred DeGand, and Eric Lukin.
"It's been a huge hit with the kids and players as well," commented Derek Papich, Flodin Unit Director. "They were all so much fun and really helped out with the kids. They were exhausted when they left and I think they have a better understanding of what it is like to work at a B & G Club and just how much work it is."
"The Rockford Rampage is committed to the youth of our community, and this is one small way that we can give back to this great region, "Said Elaine Landrum, Rampage Director of Community Relations. "If we can assist in providing a memorable experience for these kids, we have done our job. That's what professional sports is all about."
To cap off the program, a soccer tournament will be held Wednesday February 24 for all the members who participated in the program. In addition, they will receive one free ticket to the last home game of the Rampage on Sunday, February. 28th.
