
Rockford Messes with Texas Tonight at the BMO

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs continue their playoff push with a midweek watchup against the Texas Stars on Wednesay evening at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 6:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at sportsfanradio1330.com or watch live at AHLlive.com (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (27-23-3-3, 5th Central) enter tonight's game having capped off their recent road trip with a 4-3 overtime victory against the Hershey Bears on Saturday. Rockford has won two of the last three games and combined for 11 goals in that stretch.
Recently acquired forward Chris DiDomenico has posted mutli-point efforts in each of his first two games with the IceHogs and enters tonight's game with a season high-tying three-game point streak. DiDomenico has scored one goal with four assists for five points during his current streak.
Defenseman Adam Clendening tallied an assist during Saturday's victory to tie the IceHogs all-time record for both points (134) and assists (110) among team defensemen. The blueliner has notched points in 13 of 18 games since making his Rockford season debut, and leads all IceHogs skaters with 16 points (2g, 14a) in that time.
Texas (29-19-5-3, 3rd Pacific) arrives in Rockford with points in seven of its last 10 games and a three-game point streak. The Stars are 2-0-0-1 during their current streak following a 4-3 shootout loss in Chicago last night.
Forward Travis Morin leads Texas in scoring with 48 points (8g, 40a) in 56 games this season. Morin takes the ice tonight ranked fifth overall in the league in scoring and first among all AHL skaters in assists. Fellow winger Curtis McKenzie is second on the team with 41 points, including a team-high 21 goals, and ranks fourth in the AHL with 10 markers on the power play in 40 contests on the year.
In net, Mike McKenna and Landon Bow have split the workload with 27 and 31 appearances, respectively. McKenna is 13-8-4 with a 2.74 GAA while the rookie Bow Is 15-11-4 with a 2.86 GAA.

The IceHogs host the Penguins for the first time in franchise history at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Saturday is Autism Awareness Night, where fans can purchase mystery pucks signed by both Chicago Blackhawks and Rockford IceHogs players. The first 1,500 fans will also receive a free puzzle piece cookie cutter and cookie recipe card, courtesy of the Autism Program of Easterseals.
