Rockett Hits Game Winner in Double OT Thriller

(Mississauga, ON - ) The Power hosted the Island Storm tonight in the team's second last home game of the season and the nail biter came down to the final possession of double overtime when the Power's forward, Jaushay Rockett made a buzzer beating floating layup to win the game 132-130. Morgan Lewis led all scorers with 35 points, adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists. William "Bo" Harris had a season high 33 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The Storm were led by former Power guard, Nick Okorie who scored 31 points before fouling out in the first overtime.
The Storm looked strong out of the gate, leading by as much as nine in the first quarter but the Power managed to cut into the lead by the end of the quarter, trailing by five. The Power started the second quarter on a 12-1 run ending the quarter by outscoring the Island by ten and taking a 48-41 lead into halftime.
The Power started the second half looking to run away with the game and were up by as much as 16 points before the Storm began cutting into the lead. The Storm went on a 12-4 run of their own to cut the Power's lead to four heading to the final frame. The fourth quarter was a showdown between Okorie and Lewis. Lewis had 17 points in the quarter while Okorie responded with 14 of his own. The teams continued to swap leads as the game was all tied up late in the fourth. The game came down to a final shot for the Power with the game tied at 105.
Bo Harris led the charge for the Power in overtime, scoring the team's first seven points while Okorie scored 8 for the Storm. With both teams going back and forth, the teams headed into a thrilling double overtime with the Power ultimately winning on the final shot of the second overtime.
The Power will play the final game of the regular season on February 27th at 7 p.m. against the Brampton A's at the Hershey Centre. The game will be the Power's Fan Appreciation Night with prizes from Samsung, Rogers, Nokia, Microsoft, Wacky Wings and more!
