Rocket Announce Vogue Optical "Shooting for the Stars"

Vogue Optical and the PEI Rocket have teamed up to offer an experience to minor hockey players that kids dream of. Vogue Optical "Shooting for the Stars" will have two Atom A or two Novice teams squaring off against each other in a breakaway competition between the first and second periods of select PEI Rocket home games (non-school nights). The team that scores the most goals will receive honorable mention from our in-game hostess and the top two teams for the year will come back to face each other to declare the Vogue Optical "Shooting for the Stars" champion, in March.

If selected, each team will receive a ticket for each player participating and his/her parent, for the game in which they are participating. Maxime Lagacé Named to Subway Super Series Roster

The following details were released earlier today by the QMJHL:

The Victoriaville Tigres and the Quebec Remparts organizations, in collaboration with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League, today held simultaneous press conferences to announce the roster of Team QMJHL which will compete against Team Russia in the 2011 Subway Super Series.

The Tigres will host the first game of the series on Monday, November 7th at the Colis�e Desjardins, while the Remparts will host game two at the Colis�e Pepsi on Wednesday, November 9th. Then, Team Russia heads west to play two games versus the OHL and WHL All-Stars. All six contests will be televised nationwide on Rogers Sportsnet while TVA Sports will broadcast the two contests in QMJHL territory.

Each of the three CHL member leagues assembled a selection committee, which worked closely with Hockey Canada's Chief Scout, Kevin Prendergast, to select the players for this year's series. The QMJHL selection committee included QMJHL's Executive vice-president, Marcel Patenaude, the Director of Hockey Operations, PierreLeduc and the general managers of the Quebec Remparts, Patrick Roy, the Victoriaville Tigres, Jérôme Mésonéro and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Sylvain Couturier. A total of twenty-three players will participate in the event this year. The rosters for each game will be announced at a later date.

Among the players selected, the 3rd, 17th, 26th and 28th first round picks of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Jonathan Huberdeau (SNB), Nathan Beaulieu (SNB), Phillip Danault (VIC) and Zack Phillips (SNB) as well as 2nd and 4th round picks Xavier Ouellet (BLB) and Jean-Gabriel Pageau (GAT). It is also worth noting that Drummondville Voltigeurs' centre Sean Couturier, will also be included in the roster if he is released by the Philadelphia Flyers.
