Motor City Rockers News Release

Well hello everyone. It's been a while.

For longtime fans, you may remember me. I'm Brady Beedon the voice of the Motor City Rockers. As for new fans, you may also see me out and about in the Downriver area with the other half of my job, director of corporate partners. For fans new and old, thank you for being with us!

Anyway, a lot has happened over the last couple months. Let's get you all up to speed.

In mid-May, the Wyandotte City Council officially approved a three year lease for us to play in the Yack Arena.

Check out the press conference stream on the Rockers Hockey YouTube account.

Since that was made official, we have been hard at work.

First, our general manager, Nick Field, has been building the roster. We were able to recall the rights of seven players including, Josh Colten, Mike Winn, Doug Blaisdell, Cory Checco, Ricardo Gonzalez, Nick Magill-Diaz, and Nick Gullo. While the last two were traded in the time since, the foundation for a high level roster has been built. We have added a former FPHL Defensemen of the Year in Dakota Bohn, former fan favorite Avery Smith, along with other well known names in the Fed.

We were able to walk in the Wyandotte Fourth of July parade, (or drive down on a Zamboni in Ken's case!). Or you may have seen us at the Wyandotte Art Fair, selling some of our new merch, getting new fans to sign up for our fan club, or just learning more about the team.

We also released our schedule!!!

October 16th is our first game when we travel to take on one of the newest teams in the FPHL, the Minnesota Northern Lights. For the first time in Motor City Rockers history, all 56 games both home and away, will be broadcasted live. This is an exciting next step for the organization, to give Rockers fans the same level of production, whether the team is home or away.

The home opener will be Saturday, October 24th at the Yack arena, when we reignite our rivalry with the Port Huron Prowlers. We need you there to pack the Yack and re-introduce purple and black hockey to our in-state foe.

Tickets will be available in the near future, we are currently finishing up some backend stuff with our ticket provider. We will have season tickets available as soon as we can.
