Rock Cats Announce Celebrity Appearance and Entertainment Act Dates

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, continues unveiling the 2013 Promotional Calendar with the announcement of the Celebrity Appearances and Entertainment Acts planned for the season. The Rock Cats have secured ABC hit television show Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Valentin (Val) Chmerkovskiy at New Britain Stadium on Thursday, June 13. Chmerkovskiy danced as a professional partner in season 15 with season 1 winner, Kelly Monaco. For season 16, he partnered with Disney Channel's Shake It Up star, Zenday Colemen. Chmerkovskiy will meet with fans, sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, May 18 will include a celebrity appearance from WWF/WWE Wresting star Sgt. Slaughter. He will meet and greet fans as they enter the ballpark, take photographs and sign autographs and be included in some of the on-field promotions. Slaughter was one of the top wrestlers on the World Wrestling Federation circuit and was known for his "cobra clutch" where he would seat his opponent in the ring and apply the hold. An alternate version of the Sgt. Slaughter character was incorporated into the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy line as well as its animated series and comic books.

The Russian Bar Trio, a hit in their first appearance at New Britain Stadium last season, will return with their high flying act. The Russian Bar Trio performed on NBC's popular television show Americas Got Talent and has also appeared on Oprah and Ellen. The Russian Bar Trio will entertain fans between innings throughout the game on Saturday, April 27.

Fan favorite Zooperstars will be providing fans with laughs and memories at New Britain Stadium on Saturday, May 11. The giant inflatable sports figure related animals will be entertaining the crowd between innings as the Rock Cats host the Red Sox affiliate. Alex Frogriguez, Clammy Sosa, Ken Giraffrey Jr. and Harry Canary are some of the Zooperstars that could appear. This is a great act for the entire family.

The popular Dancing Christopher will return to New Britain Stadium on Saturday, July 13. Christopher and his cast of mannequin characters will be dancing between innings to tunes from the Village People and Michael Jackson.
