*LAST TIME OUT*

YOUNG & TADANO LEAD BISONS PAST WINGS, 7-4—Buffalo designated hitter Ernie Young went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI and Bisons starter Kazuhito Tadano (2-0) pitched five innings, as Buffalo defeated Rochester 7-4, Saturday night at Frontier Field. Augie Ojeda and Kevin West each had three hits while Jason Bartlett added two in the Wings 11-hit attack. Michael Ryan also added a two-run home run. Rochester has lost 10 of their last 13 games vs. Buffalo at Frontier Field.

*WHAT'S ON DECK*

HOME, SWEET, HOME—The Red Wings continue their eight-game homestand tonight with the final game of a four-game series vs. Buffalo. Rochester will play Buffalo tonight before finishing the eight-game homestand with a four-game set vs. Richmond Monday-Thursday. So far the Wings are 1-2 on the eight-game homestand.

HEADING SOUTH-WEST—Starting tomorrow the Wings will play 32 straight games outside the North Division. Rochester will play 12 games vs. South Division teams and 20 games vs. West Division teams. The Wings won't play a North Division team until Saturday, July 2 when they play Scranton at Frontier Field.

*WHAT'S NEWS*

STOP BOWYER TIME—Red Wings closer Travis Bowyer has been very impressive during the month of May, going 0-1 with 10 saves and a 1.59 ERA in 12 games. In 17.0 innings of work, Bowyer has allowed just three runs on eight hits while walking eight and striking out 26. Bowyer has allowed just three runs in his last 18 appearances and opponents are batting just .138 (8-for-58) against him in the month of May.

THERE'S A NEW ROOSTER IN THE HEN HOUSE—RHP Travis "The Rooster" Bowyer has an International League leading 11 saves this season and is just 11 saves shy of tying the Red Wings all-time saves record for saves in a season. RHP Al Severinsen currently holds the Wings record with 22 saves back in 1970. Saves have been an official stat since 1969 in the International League. If Bowyer can get one more save over the next three games he will set a new franchise record for saves in one month. Bowyer and RHP Jesse "The Sheriff" Crain (10 saves in May of 2004) are currently tied for the most saves in one month.

MAY DAY, MAY DAY—The Red Wings are playing well in the month of May with a 15-12 record. With a win tonight the Wings will clinch their second consecutive winning month of May (2004 16-13) for the first time since 1987 (16-14) & 1988 (17-12).

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT—Rochester has won four of their last five one-run games and seven of their last eight two-run games. Of the 49 games played so far this season 26 of them have been decided by 1 or 2 runs. Rochester has a 7-6 record in one-run games and a 9-4 record in two-run games.

HAPPY DAYS (IN THE DIVISION) ARE HERE AGAIN—Rochester goes into tonight's game with an 18-15 record against North Division opponents this season. Since the IL went to three divisions in 1998, Rochester has not had a winning divisional record (last winning divisional record was 1997 when the Wings played in the IL East division).

DUCKS ON THE POND—Rochester has really struggled hitting with runners in scoring position the last five games batting just .158 (6-for-38). The Wings were 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position during last night's game. Rochester has left 29 runners on base the first three games of this four-game series vs. Buffalo.

DON'T SHUT ME OUT—The Red Wings have yet to be shut out this season. This is the longest the Wings have gone into a season (49 games) without being shut out since 1990. In 1990 the Wings didn't get shut out until their 64th game (3-0 loss at Omaha). The losing pitcher for the Wings that night was RHP Curt Schilling.
