ROCHESTER KNIGHTINGALES TO COMPETE FOR FITNESS TITLE

Dance Team to participate in All Strength Fitness Challenge in Canada

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knightingales dance team has been selected to compete in the All Strength Fitness Challenge this July in Canada.

The event, which runs from July 11-13, involves three days of competition on Wasaga Beach in Toronto, Ontario. Nine teams of four women each will compete in five strength/endurance events and their total scores will determine team standings.

"When people hear the name ‘Knightingales' I want them to know that we dance for The Knightahwks NLL team, like the Raiderettes and the Raiders. I want the Knightingales name to be recognized," said competitor and Knightingales director and choreographer Corina Abadi. "This competition will show that we as dancers are fit and athletic. People know that our dance team has beautiful girls and that they are all great dancers, but I want to show our fans that we have to stay in shape and be healthy to dance professionally. If we don't come back in the top three that is fine, at least we were asked to participate and that is one of the most rewarding feelings as a director and a dancer on this team."

The Knightingales are one of two teams from the United States in the All Strength Fitness Challenge. The Knightingales are the official dance team of the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League.

The Rochester team will battle for prize money at the three-day event. The first place team will receive $6,000 and the first place individual will get $2,500. The second and third place teams will also be awarded $1,000 and $500 respectively. All prize monies are in Canadian dollars. The All Strength Fitness Challenge will air in Canada this fall on the Outdoor Life Network. The half-hour program is a new series for women that will span 13 weeks on the network.
