Rochester Raiders Re-Sign Ten Players From 2007 Championship Team

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (January 3, 2008)- The Rochester Raiders have started off the New Year by resigning ten players from last year's championship team, highlighted by former Marshall standouts Maurice Jackson and Jamil Porter.

Maurice Jackson, a wide receiver from Syracuse University who was named to the CIFL First Team All-Pro last season, and has been the top receiver in the league for the past two seasons has agreed to return for the 2008 season.

Jamil Porter, a running back, who attended Temple University, has also agreed to resign with the 2007 CIFL champions. Along with Jackson, Porter was also named as a CIFL First Team All-Pro and among the league leaders in rushing and touchdowns.

The Raiders have also signed linebacker and Rochester native Jason Coley and tightend Mike Kallfelz who were also CIFL First Team All-Pros during the 2007 season. Other players that have resigned with the Raiders for the 2008 season include; Chris Shaw, Omar Baker, Derrick Dyer, Makis Whitaker, Terrance Dawson, and James Vann.

"So far we are getting back a good chunk of our championship team from last year, including some important leaders in our locker room" commented Raiders owner Bob Bartosiewicz, "and we are confident that we can produce another exciting year for the fans and the city of Rochester."
