Lake Michigan Admirals News Release

St. Joseph, MI. - The good news for the Lake Michigan Admirals is Rochester left town. The bad news is the RazorSharks have given the Admirals three losses in their first four games of the season.

Despite a three-point shooting exhibition by Admiral Odgra Bobo late in the fourth quarter, Rochester(7-1) hung on for a 113-106 victory. Bobo hit four three pointers, scoring 22 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter.

Lake Michigan won the first quarter battle 19-18 before the RazorSharks caught on fire, outscoring the Admirals 35-25 and taking a 53-44 halftime lead.

Rochester streaked on a 14-3 run early in the 2nd quarter. "We hit a bad stretch. They played 48 minutes and we played about 38. You just can't get behind a team like Rochester," explained Coach Eddie.

Rochester outscored Lake Michigan 29-27 in the 3rd quarter with the RazorShark's bench accounting for 15. "We have to commit to defense and we have to be accountable to one another," Eddie said.

The Admirals crawled back in the 4th quarter behind Bobo and Valencia pulling within four points with under one minute left. Johnny Mayhane, a 33% free throw shooter sealed the deal with hitting all four attempts.

Rochester was led by Keith Friel's 18 and Jerice Crouch's 16. Coming off the bench, Todd McCoy scored 13, Aaron Williams 12 and Demetrius Howard with 10.

Florentino Valencia had a double double with 20pts and 15 rebounds and Courtney Blackmore added 16pts and 9 rebounds for the Admirals.

The Admirals go on the road Saturday, February 4th to play Scranton Wilkes-Barre Steamers. They return home on February 11th to face Dayton at Lake Michigan Catholic's "House of Noise". For more information visit www.lakemichiganadmirals.com.
