Lake Michigan Admirals News Release

St. Joseph, MI. - The Lake Michigan Admirals came out against the Chicago Redline on fire Saturday night in front of 450 loyal fans, only to come up short 123-110. The Admirals ended the first quarter up 31-21 and then coasted in to the half leading 63-49. "It was without a doubt the most exciting half of the season," stated owner Chris Glisson. Unfortunately, the Admirals knew they were going to be in for a battle when point guard Jared Drake, point guard Steve Strong, and power forward Scotty Harris were all injured last week. Drake is out for the season, Scotty Harris couldn't play due to a groin pull, and Strong was at 70% throughout the game. At the end of three the Redline took on a run of their own, outscoring the Admirals 40-25 in the third quarter taking the lead at the end of three 89-88. That was Chicago's first lead of the night and they never looked back after that. Rob Broughton and Deandre Thomas of Chicago both had 24 points while Travell Amicks had 19 points respectively. As for the Admirals, former Mr. Basketball in South Dakota led in all scores with 24 points while Scotty Samarco had 19 and new comer Nick Freer had 17. "We signed Jeffrey Ferguson from Canada but the US Customs in Detroit denied entry to the United States because he didn't have a P1 visa. We really needed him here tonight but it just wasn't meant to be, I guess," sated Coach Ace Jackson. Next game for the Admirals is at home this Sunday at 3:04pm against the Bloomington Flex.
