Edinburg Roadrunners News Release
Edinburg, Texas--- The Edinburg Roadrunners are continuing to make roster moves as they prepare for the upcoming 2010 ULB season.
Field Manager Vince Moore's most recent acquisition is right-handed pitcher Mark Dibernardo from the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League in exchange for Austin Bridges.
Dibernardo appeared in 11 games for the Chico Outlaws of the Golden Baseball League in 2009, pitching 33.1 innings of action.
"I am looking forward to bringing new faces to the league I'm confident with our offseason trades and further free agent signings that we will bring excitement to the ballpark and a winning season," said Moore.
In another move, the Roadrunners traded first basemen Bryan Smith to the El Paso Diablos of the American Association for Matt Imwalle. This solid infielder is a former member of the Gateway Grizzlies and Laredo Broncos prior to last season's stint in west Texas. Imwalle brings with him years of experience in professional baseball in the Frontier League, American Association and the ULB.
The Roadrunners also traded outfielder Rob Matlock to the Rockford Riverhawks in the Northern League for two players to be named later.
The Edinburg Roadrunners Baseball Club is a charter member of the United League Baseball, a Professional Independent League, with six teams playing in Texas. ULB teams are located in Edinburg, Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Harlingen, Laredo, and San Angelo.
