CAMDEN, NJ- The Camden Riversharks completed deals with two more players today, 18 days from Opening Day. Lefthanded starter Kevin Walker and outfielder Nic Jackson will join the team in Florida next week when the Atlantic League holds Spring Training.
Walker, 31, pitched seven games for Camden last season before joining the Colorado Rockies' Triple-A affiliate. A former sixth round draft pick of the San Diego Padres, Walker has pitched in the Major Leagues in six seasons, including stops with the Padres, San Francisco Giants and Chicago White Sox. Walker was 4-1 with 34 strikeouts in 41.1 innings last season for Camden and holds a career 4.76 ERA in the Majors.

He spent six seasons in the Cubs' system, including two seasons in Triple-A, and split 2007 between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies organizations. Jackson holds a .275 career batting average in 517 Minor League games.
"Kevin and Nic are two players we are very excited to have for the upcoming season," David Keller, Riversharks Director of Baseball Operations, said. "Kevin pitched here last season before getting picked up and performed at a very high level. Our expectations are equally as high for Nic."
