Riversharks Lose Lawrence to Braves

CAMDEN, NJ- The Camden Riversharks announced the sale of Brian Lawrence's contract to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. He becomes the third Shark to be picked up by an affiliated club this season.
Lawrence, 31, will report to Triple-A this week after going 2-2 with a 3.21 ERA and 32 strikeouts to nine walks in Camden. In his Friday start, he gave up just two runs over eight innings of work.
Lawrence follows outfielder Chris Walker and catcher Erick San Pedro back to affiliated ball. From the start of the season, he has been a steady candidate for a return. He started six games in the Majors last season for the New York Mets.
"Brian has really been on his game over the last couple of starts and has looked like the pitcher who made six starts in the big leagues last year," Riversharks director of baseball operations, David Keller, said. "We wish Brian continued success with the Braves."
Lawrence has six seasons at the Major League level with the San Diego Padres and the Mets with a 4.19 lifetime ERA.
