Camden Riversharks News Release
CAMDEN, NJ ¬"The Camden Riversharks are proud to announce their broadcasting partnership with Burlington County College ¬â¢s Z889 WBZC-FM. The Riversharks ¬â¢ new official radio station will broadcast all of the Riversharks ¬â¢ home games and pre-game shows through their radio station and web-stream.
WBZC has been on the air since 1995 with a main format of Top 40/Dance Music. WBZC has been nominated for Best U.S. Radio Station at this year's International Dance Music Awards which takes place this March.
"We are very extremely pleased to have this partnership." said General Manager, Adam Lorber. "Z889 has such a strong signal all throughout southern New Jersey and will help us expand our presence in this market. This was an opportunity we just couldn ¬â¢t pass up."
Not only will Z889 broadcast the games but will also have an educational tie to the Riversharks. Z889 students will learn the broadcasting field with hands on experience from the Riversharks ¬â¢ very own Tim Saunders. This will give students a chance to build their resume, portfolio and a chance to network with broadcasting professionals. Students will assist in pre-game activities, play-by-play announcing, and post-game wrap-ups.
"We are very excited about becoming the flagship station for the Camden Riversharks." Said Brett Holcomb, Operations Manager and Programming Director of WBZC-FM. "This partnership will help promote the Burlington County College & Z889 brand, but more importantly it will give BCC students the opportunity to work with a professional organization and one of the best Play by Play announcers in the country Tim Saunders."
Z889 is a 10,000 watt FM station which can be heard on 88.9, 95.1(Burlington - Willingboro), 100.7 (Mt Holly and Lumberton), online at http://www.z889.org/ www.Z889.org and also available on any smart phone.
