Erie Explosion News Release

The Pittsburgh RiverRats, professional indoor football team, are pleased to announce the promotion of Head Football Coach Shawn Liotta to Vice President of Operations/Head Coach. In his new position Liotta, in addition to his head coaching duties, will focus on all aspects of the RiverRats business and football operations, with an emphasis on the teams day to day operations.

"I am very excited about the opportunity that has been presented to me here in Pittsburgh. I look forward to working with our staff to develop a championship level organization on and off the field in 2007."

RiverRats owner Andrew Haines feels that Liotta will have success in his new role with the team, " I am very happy to have Coach Liotta on board with us in an expanded role for 2007. He has done a tremendous job for our organization since we hired him and I look for even bigger things from him in the future."

Liotta, who holds a bachelors degree in Sport Management, brings a wealth of experience in coaching and sport administration to his new position. Liotta has wasted little time since being named the first head coach in franchise history in July, by signing top talent to Pittsburgh for the RiverRats run at the 2007 championship.

"We will be announcing several more exciting player signings for 2007, and the date of our final open tryout prior to our January Training Camp in the next few days," Liotta commented.
