RiverHawks Sign Branden Kosolofsky
November 4, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL)
Augusta RiverHawks News Release
The Augusta RiverHawks announce that they have signed forward Branden Kosolofsky in time for Friday night's game against the Huntsville Havoc at the James Brown Arena. To make room for Kosolofsky the team released forward Greg Beller.
Additionally, the Southern Professional Hockey League announced today that defenseman Tyson Gimblett was suspended six games and forward Aaron McGill is suspended for one game following incidents in last night's game in Huntsville.
Kosolofsky began the season with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. Last season with the Augusta RiverHawks Kosolofsky scored 19 goals and added 33 assists for 52 points in 55 games. For his efforts Kosolofsky was named to the SPHL All-Rookie Team. He will be in the lineup tonight against the Havoc.
Gimblett was suspended for an alleged elbow to the head of a Havoc player. He received a five-minute major penalty during the game for the incident. McGill was suspended for allegedly hitting a Havoc player from behind in last night's game. He received a two-minute minor penalty during the game. Both suspensions start immediately so neither player will be in the line-up tonight for the RiverHawks.
The RiverHawks are in action tonight and Saturday night on Phoenix Refrigeration Ice at the James Brown Arena. The puck drops at 7:35pm both nights. Tickets for the games are available through the James Brown Arena box office. Additional information on the Team, tickets, and schedule are available on the RiverHawks' home on the web, www.augustariverhawks.com or by calling 904-982-4218.
